Eden Prairie-Based Provider Leverages Client Relationships
Cirrus Aircraft has selected Eden-Prairie based Wings Insurance as its dedicated insurance broker to provide modern aviation insurance options for customers.
"We are thrilled to enter into this new partnership with Cirrus Aircraft," said Wings Insurance President Steve Bruss. "Our team is positioned to deliver an exceptional insurance buying experience to Cirrus Aircraft owners."
Director of Business Development Ryan Konrath said Wings Insurance will provide Cirrus owners with an excellent solution for their insurance needs.
"Wings Insurance has a keen understanding of Cirrus owners and their aircraft," Konrath said. "We're able to offer expert guidance on the best insurance solutions for individual situations." The business partnership became effective Jan. 1, 2022.
Bruss and Konrath are also Cirrus Standardized Instructor Pilots and Certificated Flight Instructors, both having logged over 2,500 hours of total flight time.
"We've been working with Cirrus owners over the last eight or nine years," Konrath explained. "We've been involved with the Cirrus Owners and Pilots Association." Through that process, Wings started insuring Cirrus owners, he said, and got to know the people at Cirrus, helping the company's clients when they really needed it.
"We're trying to improve the overall market," Konrath said. "We'll use our expertise and product knowledge to educate the underwriting community, and help them feel more comfortable. That benefits everyone, whether they are our clients or not."
Founded in 1984, Wings Insurance has established itself as a large aviation insurance specialty broker in the United States, providing aviation insurance solutions for commercial and private aircraft.
The company has achieved this distinction through its service-driven approach and dedicated team members who possess extensive aviation backgrounds. Bruss said he continually preaches about delivering an exceptional client experience.
"We've been laser-focused on that," he said. "The core strength of Wings Insurance is the 30 people on our team."
While the company is headquartered in Eden Prairie, it has a business presence in Florida, Illinois, Ohio, Nevada, North Dakota, South Dakota, Colorado and Tennessee. Bruss has been with Wings Insurance for 28 years.
"Aviation insurance is still in what we call a hard market," Bruss said. "Premiums are higher, and there are more restrictions on policies. However, we feel as an industry, we are nearing the end of that hard market. We are not seeing dramatic increases like we have the last few years."
According to Bruss, that's an indication that in one to two years, insurance rates will start to decrease and the market will soften.
"It's just part of the normal cycle of insurance," he said, adding continued industry growth is being fueled by an incredible demand for general aviation aircraft.
Bruss said there's a lot of purchasing occurring, and because of Wings Insurance's experience delivering customer service and knowledge, the company's reputation continues to spread. "We have a fantastic team here at Wings," Bruss added. "It's the best in the industry."
