Serving Midwest Aviation Since 1960
Looking for some aviation education, a Wings credit or two, or maybe just something to do while enjoying your Saturday morning coffee? Look no further than the KFCM Saturday Morning Webinar Series. We've moved our popular Saturday morning seminars online using the GoToWebinar platform. It is the same great content, presented in a convenient online offering.
Seminars are held every Saturday morning, other than holiday weekends, from 0900-1000. These seminars are all free of charge. There are a variety of topics to entertain and educate pilots of all certificate levels and backgrounds. Past seminars included advanced multiengine flying, flying to the Bahamas, drone flying, mountain flying, cross country planning, nailing the Instrument Proficiency Check, and maintenance for pilots.
Seminar topics can be found on FAASafety.gov where you can sign up using the link on the session posting page. Then you will receive another e-mail from GoToWebinar that you will use to join the session. You can also refresh your email notification preferences for notification of upcoming events through the Wings program. There are many benefits of participation in the Wings program, often including insurance discounts. Please contact an FAA safety team representative if you need more information or assistance.
Several upcoming topics are Airframe and Induction Icing, Aeromedical Topics and Gear Up Landing. Topics vary and are geared toward all pilots from students to ATPs flying everything from drones and powered parachutes to jets. Wings credit is granted, usually in the Basic and Advanced Knowledge categories. These credits can be applied toward completion of your Wings program, which can be completed in lieu of taking a Biennial Flight Review.
Please contact Laura Herrmann, lead FAASTeam representative, with any questions at ljherrmann@yahoo.com. Also, we are always looking for speakers, so let us know if you have a topic you would like to share with your fellow aviators. No speaking experience required, and we will talk you through the webinar process. Perhaps you had a valuable learning experience you'd like to share, or you have specific expertise in some area. The goal is to have a relatable educational forum among pilots.
We will continue to evaluate the situation for a return to our normal in person fellowship when it is safe to do so. For the foreseeable future, we will be continuing our online only format for these events. Hope to see you at a webinar soon! It's a fantastic way to start your weekend.
