Planes, cars, people gather for good times at Aitkin Aviation

This Thorp T-18 owned by Dave Gunderson from Mora was one of the pretty birds relaxing on the tarmac as pilots refueled themselves at the breakfast coordinated, cooked, and served by members of the Country Road Classics Car Club.

Parked for viewing, Merle Gallant's 1940 Ford has it's hood open inviting attendees to view the 1953 Mercury V-8 engine that gives power to the pickup. Ah, those were the days!

The Aitkin Flyers Club and Country Road Classic Car Club sponsored the June Fly-In/Drive-In at Aitkin Aviation. In addition to a wide variety of aircraft stopping by, a silent auction, live music, and car show with prizes filled out the activities of the day.

Crowds enjoyed breakfast and lunch over the course of a very pleasant, though windy day. Four of the men pictured here are members of Country Road Classic Car Club. Chuck Pratt was simply visiting from Montana but pitched in to help, offering some Montana nice right here in Minnesota.
