Sitting right seat for most pilots means that the Pilot in Command is the person who is seated next to you and your job is to do what they ask you to do, or what the Crew Resource Manual dictates. For me it has meant something much different. As the guy in the right seat or in back in some cases, I was the one responsible for the flight. Fellow aviators: We sure had a great couple of weekends in February and March for flying. Jr's corner put on a great fly-in on February 24 on Upper Red Lake. The hot roast beef sandwich was one of the best I've had. Tanis Heater Company was a great sponsor and supporter of the event. The next day my son and I made our way to Warroad, landed on the river, and walked up to the Legion for some great Pancakes. The joys of flying typically bloom in the summer for most pilots. They finally open their hangar, get some light to shine on that bird and clean off that layer of dust that forms from months of hibernation. For me it's a little different. My Supercub stays on its floats all winter. It makes its way into the shop two or three times throughout the winter for minor maintenance and/or a new mod here or there. Eight years ago in January, my life changed forever when Rosa and I adopted our son Hayden. Our adult girls had left the nest and this little guy came into our lives out of our desire to provide him a home. Fast forward eight years and I not only have a son, but I have a co-pilot too.
