    Isle had a very successful fly in on Sunday, July 14th. The threat of storms held off and the weather was beautiful. We had 45 planes fly in to land on the nicely manicured grass runway. Local friends of the airport were out to enjoy a breakfast of pancakes, eggs, sausage, and drinks. In all, 650 people were served. There were aircraft in from all over mid Minnesota with one flying in from the middle of South Dakota. We had everything from Piper Cubs to Bonanza fly into Isle.... Full story

  • A beautiful February day for a Fly-In

    Thanks to Bob Heavirland for the following report and photos from the recent Aitkin Fly-In for Ski planes and Wheel planes. FINALLY, we had a Saturday (2-16-19) that was a nice day to fly! There were twenty to twenty-five planes flown in and approximately 70 people in attendance. Not bad for a day with a high temp of 18º!     This is just a sample of the power of social media and a nice day to go flying after weeks of low visibility keeping many of us grounded. On Thursday December 13 at 6:23 p.m. Ryan Nelson posted on Facebook in a group called "MN Airshow, Fly-in and Flight Club" that he was having an "Impromptu rendezvous" at Milaca the next day, Friday December 14 at 1:00 p.m. That is short notice on a weekday and I wondered if anyone would make it.   • Mora Fly-In

    September 15 and the tops of the Poplar trees are starting to turn yellow as aircraft converged on Mora for the Lions Cub annual Fly in breakfast. Aircraft were coming and going all morning a jet trainer flew in as I was leaving. Hawk Aviation from Rush City had two aircraft furnishing rides.... Full story

    Thanks to Minnesota Flyer reader, Bob Heavirland for taking the time and effort to share photos and a few words about his experience attending the Milaca Municipal Airport's 50th Annual Fly-In/Camp-In August 5. Attendees were welcomed to bring a dish to share in Saturday evening's pot luck dinner. Rounding out the evening was the Milaca American Legion performing the Flag Retirement Ceremony.
